One of the biggest challenges that I have had in life was learning a new job.  Sure, that might not sound so hard, but for me, I love habitual behavior, so learning a new job was pretty scary.

Perhaps the biggest challenge I ever had learning a new job was when I took a job as a business phone systems salesman.  I guess I had used a phone in the past, but I wasn’t prepared for the number of models that were available and that I would have to sell.

The first day of work, I was introduced to many different Nortel business phones and I was expected to know how all of them worked.  I was also required to read some articles on how to maximize phone system resources in organizations - something I had never thought of before.

Thankfully those days are behind me now, but I still dread the idea of learning a new job - it is definitely one of my biggest phobias.

As a business owner, I am most looking for new ways to increase business revenue without doing a whole lot more work. Usually we test out the best ideas to see if they would make a good permanent addition to the services that our printing shop offers.

We’ve had our share of bad ideas, but they are forgotten in light of the better performing ones. Recently, I came up with the idea to expand our aisle runner offerings to include custom aisle runners for our customers.

We were a little worried at first that the customers would not need a custom aisle runner for their wedding, but after a couple of weeks we realized that we made a good business decision.  In fact, the sales of been so good that we’ve been looking at other opportunities within the wedding space to offer our clients.

Later on this afternoon we will be doing a brainstorming session with our staff to see if one of them holds the million dollar idea that would increase our business success.

After my parents house wares and appliance store faced stiff competition from a big-box store that moved into their neighborhood, they knew they were at a point where they had to specialize or shut down. The big-box store carried most of their products at a lower price then they could hope to offer to their clients.

It was at that point in their business that they decided to specialize in something that they both loved: coffee. They not only carried some of the best coffee makers on the market, but also served coffee in their store to their customers while they were shopping.

They quickly became known as the place that sold the best coffee pot that money could buy. They also made sure that they did a lot of product research and continually updated their product listing for the best coffee maker on their website.

Not only has their business thrived, but they get to share their love of coffee with others.

It seems like this week just didn’t want to end, but the day is finally almost done.  In fact, I don’t know if this has been the longest week of my life, but it has sure seemed like it - I just want to get off of work and finally have a chance to relax.

But that won’t be that easy.  You see, my sister is coming into town this weekend, out from the beauty academy that she is attending and she wants me to take her out tonight.  I couldn’t really say no as I haven’t seen her for about a year and there was going to be a lot of catching up to do.

So, I stopped by the local beauty school on my break to get my hair and makeup done.  I decided against going the really cheap route by going to the hair school down the street and instead went all out at the beauty school instead.

Alright, I should get back to work for these last forty minutes - they won’t be over soon enough. 

When I first started out online, I wasn’t sure how I was going to make money.  I mean, when you are new, you just have no idea as to how you can turn your ideas into cash online, but it didn’t take me long to figure out what I was going to do.

You see, after I purchased some software packages at a site I found, I realized that some of the tools that I had downloaded from that site would be useful to many people and there was a good opportunity to sell it to them.

What made it better was that I was a happy user of both the Coin Wizard and Stamp Wizard for my collections and therefore I could provide a personal testimonial for the products.

So, I contacted the site owner to find out if I could sell their products and they were happy to have me.  That was many years ago, but the sales just keep coming in.

One of my favorite things about the Internet is the ability to do many of the things we used to have to leave our home for from the comfort of our own computer.  Everything from ordering groceries online to using a job search engine to find a new job can be done via your computer at home.

Recently, I was looking for a new part time job to supplement my income as it was the slow time of year for my employer.  I thought it would be a great opportunity to try something new and spend some time away from my office desk.

I looked to see if I could find some retail jobs in Australia as that was where I was residing at the time.  I had little difficulty finding some companies that were looking for staff and I was able to find a job.

It was not only a good experience, but it was convenient to do my job hunting from home.

Every two years, we have a rather large family reunion and this year, the planning is up to me and my sister. As everyone takes turns hosting the event, it happened to be our turn. Neither one of us has the room to facilitate that many people, so we decided to look into a camp for rent that would accommodate the whole family.

We got out the yellow pages and did a search on all facilities that we could use to host our extended family. We even went to scope out several of the properties. We were especially impressed with the Broadelm farm and we quickly decided that this was the place for us.

It is comforting to know that it is booked and we have a place for everyone to stay, but we still have so much planning to do to make the reunion a success. We will get it done, I’m sure.

When I sold my first stock photos royalty free, I felt like I was on top of the world. I could not believe that I had actually made money for doing something so natural, like taking pictures on my vacation in the mountains.

I have always enjoyed taking pictures and, as I have a friend who deals with stock photography, I thought I may as well submit my pictures to her to see what she thought and whether she could give me some pointers as to how I could better them.

Shortly after that, I was the proud owner of a stock photo. I sold very quickly and I was ecstatic. I have sold many since then, but nothing can compare to the feeling of that very first sale. I am in no way, a professional photographer, but I am lucky enough to get some really good shots sometimes. Not bad for a start.

Sometimes late at night when I can’t sleep, I take a look online for the next thing that I want to buy.  Usually in my groggy state, I can’t do a lot of good thinking, so I just look and don’t buy anything at this time of the day.

So, tonight I find myself looking at the next LCD television that I want to buy.  I have been saving my money for a long time and I should have enough to get one before Christmas - that will be my little gift from Santa.

I was just about to go to bed when I noticed that there was a TV screen protector that they suggested that would go perfectly with the television.  According to the page, it would make sure that my screen would be protected from dust and damage and prolong the life of my television.

So, when I do buy that LCD TV, I will make sure to buy a TV screen protector as well.  It seems to be the smart thing to do.

One of the things that I have noticed is that I feel a lot better if someone provides me a recommendation or testimonial about a product.  I guess I have been burned a number of times in the past and I would rather buy something that has worked for others than be the first one to try it out.

So when I decided that it would be smart to find some sites with reviews that would tell me the good and the bad about the anti-spyware software I was considering purchasing named SpyHunter.

It didn’t take me long to find a couple of good SpyHunter review websites and I proceeded to read each one of them.  It took a little while to read them, but pretty much each one that I read was a positive review of the product.

So, I am going to buy a copy of it and try it out.  If others think that it works well, then I am okay with buying it.
